Golf Course Superintendent

Simoro Golf Links is family owned and operated 18 hole par 72 golf course, located just minutes away from Barrie, Ontario.
We are seeking a superintendent in a permanent position. This position is ideal for any assistant superintendent who wishes to advance and brings with him all of the following job requirements:

• a minimum of 5 years turf grass related experience at a golf course
• a valid Ontario Landscape Pesticide Application License with experience in application of fertilizer and pesticide
• IPM Certification and Accreditation
• Mechanical skills are an asset
• ability to plan, follow and execute a budget
• organizational skills
• attention to detail

The Job Descriptions includes the following but is not limited to:

• planning, supervising and performing day to day grass operations including irrigation and fertilizer/ pesticide application
• training, mentoring and monitoring staff for accuracy and efficiency
• maintaining of a safe and hazard free workplace
• regular communication with owner and managers regarding upcoming events, weather and other golf related plans
• proper record keeping and logs for water usage, gasoline usage, fertilization and chemical applications
• off season duties, i.e. sharpening reels, clubhouse maintenance
