Job Summary:
Woodlands is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to make their mark and fulfill a role of Apprentice/Assistant Professional. Working closely with the Golf Profesional, this position will assist management with all matters relating to the day to day operations which include tee sheet booking and review, merchandising, club repair, tournament and league coordination and execution, as well as teaching individual, clinics, junior camps and lessons.
Responsibilities:
To serve the needs of members and guests in accordance with the operational health and safety policies and procedures as outlined within the Woodlands Links orientation manual and booklet for policies and procedures.
- Assist the Golf Professional with all event execution
- Responsible for setting up and executing specific Club events or leagues
- Assist management with scheduling
- Assist the Golf Professional with teaching camps and clinics
- Maintain a good working relationship within a team atmosphere
- Coordinating the day to ensure it runs smoothly
- Assist with merchandising of inventory, ensuring all suppliers are displayed
- Retail sales of pro shop merchandise
- Club regripping/equipment repair
- Responsible for opening and closing the Pro Shop
- Booking tee times, taking payment and checking in on the players
- Monitoring the pace of play
- Work closely with all members of the Golf Services Team
- All other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Member of the PGA of Canada in Good Standing (or in pursuit/process of becoming a member)
- Committed to working in a fast-paced team environment
- Demonstrate ability to provide a high level of customer service
- Strong Communicator that Possesses a Friendly and Outgoing Personality
- Ability to handle cash, credit and debit transactions
- Professional Appearance and Mannerisms
- Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills
- Strong Attention to Detail
- Class G Drivers Licence
- Willing and able to work a variety of shifts (Early mornings, mid-day, evenings, weekends and holidays)
- Working indoors (Pro Shop) and outdoors (variable weather conditions)
- Ability to be on your feet for the duration of your shift
- Comfortable lifting up to 40lbs
Compensation:
- PGA of Canada dues covered
- Hourly wage of $20-$25
